Celebrating Chemistry Week with a Bang!

An explosive and entertaining lecture entitled 'The Even Bigger Bangs Little Brother' given by Dr Hal Sosabowski to pupils and parents from LEH and  Hampton School was the perfect way to celebrate Chemistry Week.

During the show, Dr Sosabowski, assisted by his able technicians carried out a variety of experiments including an exploding ostrich egg, and hydrogen balloons which kept the audience enthralled and on the edge of their seats.  When the last rocket had been launched, and the lights went up,  Mrs Thackray, Head of Chemistry thanked Dr Sosabowski for giving such an informative and entertaining lecture.

The RSC Chemistry Week from 3- 11 November is a themed week of events that is held every two years to promote a positive image of chemistry and increase the public understanding of the importance of chemical science in our everyday lives

Dr Sosabowski, a Principal Lecturer in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Brighton is well-known for his charismatic teaching style and is a regular on children's televisions programmes such as ITV's Ministry of Mayhem.
