European Languages Day

The European Day of Languages is celebrated on the 26th September each year to commemorate the value of language learning across Europe and beyond. To mark the occasion, girls at LEH enjoyed a day with a distinctly European flavour.

Events held during the day included a European Food Sale with many European delicacies on offer and the chance to enter a food quiz. Traditional recipes in various foreign languages were also available.

Every classroom in the school was allocated a language for the day, and teachers greeted and dismissed classes in the nominated language.

The Portuguese taster lesson proved popular

After a mouth-watering European-flavoured menu at lunchtime, 30-minute taster lessons in either Hebrew, Portuguese or Italian were held.
