Members of the LII's enjoyed a visit at the start of Autumn Term to the Environmental Centre in Bushy Park. Rose Humphry. LIID gives an account of the day.
'On the 11th September 2007 LIID went to Bushy Park Environmental Centre to study wildlife. The weather was perfect which was fortunate for the activities we were doing later on.
My first activity was 'pond dipping' which I really enjoyed. The instructions were simple and everyone got into it straight away. The most interesting things I caught were two fish and a major water boatman. After we had caught enough mini beasts we went back to try to identify them.
Then after we had finished our lunch my group got ready for the 'nature trail' which was fascinating. My favourite part was finding the different leaves, seeds and berries from a list. But I did loads of exciting stuff including: bird watching, finding evidence of animals and identifying a fungus.
I had so much fun and would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Gazetas, Mrs Adams, the Mums and everyone at the Bushy Park Environmental Centre.'
