About The Friends
What the Friends Do

The main role of the Friends is:

  • to provide tangible benefits for the girls via fundraising and
  • to promote a sense of community within the school by running social events for both parents and girls throughout the year.

The Friends fund the extras, the non-essential but valuable equipment that enhances the girls' education and experience of school. Its activities help “take the waiting out of wanting”.

With the continued support of the parents, recent acquisitions have included specialist data-logging equipment and lap-tops to support the refurbishment of the science laboratories; display boards for the girls' art and sporting achievements; new sofas and chairs for the sixth form common rooms; high quality sound and lighting system for concerts and drama productions; a new wonderful climbing frame and large sunshade for the junior playground; improved outdoor seating for parents and girls at sporting events and house trophies to support the new school house system.

The Friends also help to provide many opportunities for parents and pupils to get to know each other, and continue to have a varied selection of social events throughout the year (e.g. Wine Safari and Summer Picnic) founded around the annual staples of the new parents' welcome drinks, the very popular Quiz and the Christmas Bazaar.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming social events.
