Sport
The school's extensive grounds enable a wide variety of sports to be played on site and the Sports Hall has allowed further diversification of both the curricular and extra curricular activities on offer. Girls play lacrosse and netball in the winter terms and tennis and athletics in the summer. There is the opportunity to swim all year round in the indoor heated pool.
All girls have gym lessons and there are squads not only for netball, lacrosse, tennis, athletics and swimming but also for gym, rounders and acrobatic gymnastics. Girls compete regularly against other schools, and often at regional and national level.
Rowing is available as an optional extra and LEH is one of the foremost UK girls' schools in this sport. In Years 10 and 11, a wider variety of PE is available on and off-site, some of which may be charged as an extra. Additional options may include badminton, hockey, soccer, rugby, dance, aerobics, fitness, life saving, volleyball, trampolining, golf, real tennis, canoeing and self defence. In the Sixth Form options may include trampolining, aerobics, golf, yoga and badminton.
