Pastoral Care

Sixth Formers with Mrs Brenda Painton, Head of Sixth Form

Pastoral care has a high priority at the school, and staff are committed to promoting the welfare and happiness of each girl. The Senior Department is divided into four pastoral 'layers', each with its own Head of School: Year 7, Years 8 and 9, Years 10 and 11, and the Sixth Form. The Heads of School are all members of the Senior Management Team, and report directly to the Head Mistress. In Years 7-11, there are four forms, each with a Form Tutor and a Deputy, who report to the Heads of School. Girls normally change Tutors at the end of Years 7, 9 and 11. The Sixth Form of about 190 operates in Tutor Groups of 14 girls, the Tutor normally remaining with the group for the two year period.

With Sister Court, the School Nurse

The school has the services of a qualified counsellor who attend regularly so that pupils can have confidential discussions if required. If a girl is unwell during the school day, the full-time, qualified School Nurse is able to help. She is based in our well equipped medical room. The school also uses a GP as a medical adviser, and medicals are provided for girls in Year 7.
