Drama

leh_148.jpg
In an A level Theatre Studies class

In addition to Drama within the curriculum, the school offers various extra-curricular opportunities to perform, direct and produce, and the productions and activities are not only very popular, but of an extremely high standard.

Drama is offered as an additional GCSE subject, and Theatre Studies A level is offered in conjunction with Hampton School.

Speech and Drama lessons, individual and group, are available as an optional extra, and are very popular. Girls are prepared for graded examinations.

Members of the 'Cabaret' cast

The school mounts regular productions of plays and musicals, including some with the boys from Hampton School, our neighbours. These have recently included Hamlet, West Side Story and Cabaret, and plans for 2005/6 include Carmen and The Crucible. Some productions are mounted in our main Hall, others in our Drama Studio. We hold an annual Drama Festival of plays produced, and generally written, by sixth formers with casts drawn from the entire school.
