The School Day

The School Day

Girls travel from a wide catchment area, and many use the school coach network. Breakfast is available at the Senior Department from 7.45 and school starts at 8.45 am.

There is an Assembly on most days, and on Fridays the classes take it in turn to make a presentation. We are delighted to welcome parents to the school for these 'family assemblies'. We use assemblies to celebrate the girls' various achievements - including birthdays - and they provide an important opportunity for the Juniors to gather together as a community.

There are two outdoor break periods each day during which the girls may practise sports, attend clubs, work on their garden, enjoy the apparatus or just have fun playing and chatting. The girls have a safe and attractive play area in one section of the school grounds.

School lunch is self-service, and eaten in the Junior Department's own very attractive, light and colourful Dining Room; there is a wide and varied choice of nutritious food.

Lessons end at 3.15pm for Year 3 and 4, and 3.50 pm for Years 5 and 6. There is Homework Club for the younger girls until 3.50 pm. After school supervision is available in the LRC until 5pm.
