The Curriculum

Junior Mathematics
The Junior Department curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, including the Primary National Strategy. It is challenging, and designed to give a balanced educational experience covering academic and creative subjects, and many sporting activities. One of the hallmarks of the school is the provision of specialist subject teaching, drawing on the expertise and enthusiasm of highly skilled staff. French, Music, ICT, PE and Science are normally all taught by specialist teachers from Year 3; Art is normally taught by specialists from Year 4; all subjects are normally taught by specialists in Years 5 and 6. If appropriate, girls are offered additional support in their learning.

In the Junior ICT Room
The school is very well resourced and staff use a wide range of teaching styles and activities to ensure pace, stimulation and progression. Girls and staff make good use of ICT, and we employ a wide range of interactive packages and software. Girls are taught to devise simple programs and are introduced to word processing and the use of data bases. The Library is a delightful and very well stocked room, much enjoyed by the girls.
