Pastoral Care

web284.jpg
We work hard to establish and maintain a caring, supportive atmosphere in which girls feel confident to be themselves, to respect and care for everyone in the community, to be proud of their achievements and to persevere with things they initially find difficult. The staff set this example in their behaviour and attitudes, and the girls are expected to do the same. Girls who have any concerns or worries are encouraged to talk to any member of staff, in confidence, at any time. There is a fully equipped Medical Room and several staff are trained in first aid. The School Nurse is on call in case of any more serious concerns.

All forms have Personal, Social,  Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) lessons once a week during which friendship, behavioural issues and other concerns are discussed in an open and trusting way. An informal House system provides and extra social grouping across year groups and all new girls are allocated an older "buddy" from within their House. A School Council provides a forum for pupils to air queries and concerns.
