Hampton Head of River

On Saturday 4th February, the LEH Boathouse achieved some fantastic results at the Hampton Head of the River.

In the senior squad the LEH 1st Eight recorded a win against tough competition from 9 other crews. The senior squad J16 Eight also won their category. This winning J16 Eight also raced in two coxed fours and showed great strength and depth by finishing first and second in this event too. Hazel Bruce and Elizabeth Horne posted, relative to all other crews and events, one of the top percentage times of the day, when they raced in the coxless pair event finishing  first out of a possible 16 crews entered.

In the LEH J15 squad, the coxed quad won their category out of a possible 20 crews entered. The same crew also came second in the J15 coxed four event; losing out by 14 seconds to Headington School Oxford. The J14 squad dominated their event of the octuple; winning their category by a convincing 16 seconds. Third position in this event went to the LEH ‘B' crew. An outstanding result for this squad whereby 2 LEH crews finished in the top 3 out of a possible 17 crews entered. The J13 octuple raced one year up in to the J14 category and excelled all expectations finishing sixth in this competitive field of 17 crews.

Thames Valley Trial Head

On Sunday 29th January the J13 squad took part in their first ever race, competing in various combinations with four octos completing the 1900m course. With tough competition in the form of Great Marlow School and Sir William Perkins the girls showed that their hard work since starting in September has really been worth it. The crew of Juliet Buckle, Millie-Mei Hughes, Harriet Lingard, Elinor George, Greta Harrison, Amber Middleton, Verity Cole, Amelia Reddish and Paige Windmill had a very impressive race securing a win over Great Marlow School by well over 3secs.
