Following the appeal for golfers in the Spring 2011 newsletter, LEH was able to field a team for The Tassie Old Girls Inter-School Golf Tournament held on 20th June 2011 at The Berkshire in Ascot. There were teams from 33 schools competing in 27 holes medal foursomes and LEH were drawn with St Mary's Ascot. The LEH team consisted of Nikki Williams, LEH 1968-1975 and Claire Byrd (née Mollart), LEH 1970-1975, Jane Booker (née Goodwin), LEH 1955-1960 and Alison Cox, LEH 1970-1978. This was the first time LEH had taken part in the Tassie for many years and we were pleased to beat 11 teams but there is room for improvement in future years. We had a fabulous day (especially as the rain started once we had come in for tea) and apart from playing a wonderful golf course and great company, there was a delicious lunch and tea and a good opportunity to catch up with the alumnae from LEH and other schools. Nikki and Claire managed to get a birdie at one of the short holes and were rewarded with some golf balls.
