Construction News - November '11
Welcome to Construction News, the third issue of a series of regular updates on the progress on the new Arts Centre, written by Martin Walburn, LEH's Estates Manager.
As we approach the Christmas break, works have progressed significantly, the majority of the framework has been erected, and the last of the in-situ concrete staircases completed, enabling access to the first and second floors. The steel roof trusses which will form the roof of the theatre have been delivered to site for erection before Christmas.

The structural walls to the theatre are now in place enabling a clear understanding of the magnitude of the theatre and the possibilities that it will bring to the school.

Work has commenced on the laying of the external and internal block work walls enabling a realisation of the internal spatial provision.
The construction site will be operational after the end of term, right up until Christmas, and with the School being closed, we can maximise progress, with a fairly noisy week of work anticipated. The site will close down during the holiday period, but will restart with vigour in the New Year and I look forward to providing an end-of- year progress report.
