After intensive planning over the past eighteen months, building work for the new Arts Centre commenced in 2011, immediately after the end of the Summer Term. Once completed, the new facilities will transform our provision for the Arts in particular.

The work will be undertaken in two phases:

• Phase one, commencing in the summer 2011: the new Art and Music Departments, and Theatre
• Phase two: commencing on the completion of phase one with completion expected at the end of the academic year 2012-13: refurbished Drama Department, including second Drama Studio; refurbished Dining Hall; new Lower Sixth Common Room; and additional classrooms

It is excellent news that in our 300th Anniversary year we will see such a fantastic development for the future of the school taking shape, and one that will be of tremendous benefit to almost all current pupils. We see this as an exceptional way to celebrate our long history and the great talents of the girls, and are delighted that we will be seeing our plans come to fruition in the near future.
