Assistance with Fees
The following types of award provide parents / guardians with financial assistance with the fees:
Scholarships and Exhibitions which are awarded on entry to the School or, internally, on entry to the 6th Form, in recognition of a girl's merit and potential.
Assisted Place Bursaries which are awarded to new applicants to the school where a place has been offered but whose parents / guardians' are of limited financial means.
School Bursaries which are awarded to existing pupils where a change in parents / guardians' circumstances has resulted in difficulty in meeting tuition fees and may result in the child being withdrawn part way through a stage of education.

Scholarships and Exhibitions
The number of awards available is entirely dependent on the funds that are available at the time. Where the number of applications exceeds the funds available awards will be made on the basis of the applicant's performance in the entrance examination.
Scholarships and Exhibitions are only awarded in the senior department of the school and are based on ability.
The decision on who is awarded a Scholarship or an Exhibition rests with the Head Mistress. Her decision is final and there is no right of appeal to the Governing Body.

Assistance with Fees for New Applicants
The Governors of The Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH) are committed to ensuring that girls who would benefit from an education at LEH are not excluded from entering the School for financial reasons by offering to eligible parents / guardians financial support with the payment of schools fees. Such support is known as a Bursary and these may be awarded in the form of a discount of up to 100% on tuition fees payable, depending on the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of applicants.
The School has charitable status and the Governors wish to ensure the limited available funds are used to support parents who otherwise would not be able to send their daughter to the School. Therefore any such award is based not only on the child's performance in the entrance examination but also on an annual declaration of income and assets.
The number of awards available is entirely dependent on the funds that are available at the time. Where the number of applications exceeds the funds available awards will be made on the basis of the applicant's performance in the entrance examination.
Bursary awards are subject to repeat testing of parental means each year and may be varied upwards or downwards, depending on parental circumstances. As a very rough guide parents / guardians whose combined income is less than £20,000 could be offered a 100% discount on the tuition fees whilst those with a combined income of £50,000 + are unlikely to qualify for assistance. Though awards are generally tied to this scale, they may be varied upwards or downwards depending on individual parents /guardians' circumstances (e.g. their savings, investments and realisable assets, as well as their income, the size of their family, any other persons dependent upon them and like factors), compassionate or other pertinent considerations.

Assistance with Fees for Current Parents
The Governors expect parents / guardians to have made adequate provision for the continuity of education of their daughter in the event of the death, critical illness, incapacity, redundancy or changed financial circumstances of the fee payer.
There should be no expectation that assistance with tuition fees will be forthcoming on an automatic basis. Any assistance that is offered will be for a short period of time only and is unlikely to be continued past the end of the academic year in which the award is made.
Whilst every effort will be made to provide support, there are limits on the resources available to provide such help. It should be noted therefore that strict priorities will be applied when considering a request of this nature with girls who are either in their GCSE or ‘A' level years receiving top priority.
