London Reception
Review by Nikita Saini, LEH 1998-2009
Founded in 1883 as an exclusively female organization, the University Women's Club in Mayfair opened their prestigious doors on 20th January to the newest members of the alumnae network. The evening reunited LEH undergraduates in London along with Mrs Low, Mrs Hazel and Mr Nicholson over canapés and drinks in the elegant library.
Members of staff enjoyed catching up with the girls' progress in their respective studies and news of school developments stirred much interest and enthusiasm, particularly the prospects of a brand new drama theatre and dance studio. The proposed radical renovations of the music block were also eagerly discussed and news of extracurricular activities rekindled the competitive spirit amongst the girls.
Reminiscing over fond memories and times as former pupils raised great enthusiasm amongst old friends and gave a wonderful opportunity not only to re-establish links, but to meet some new faces within the LEH alumnae community. The evening enabled everyone present to share new experiences with each other, and catching up with familiar faces in a relaxed and jubilant atmosphere provided a further uplifting start to the New Year and led to a memorable affair for all.
