Our links with Hampton School

The Lady Eleanor Holles School has very close links with Hampton School, indeed the close proximity of two such successful single-sex schools means that pupils-and parents-receive the 'best of both worlds' from such a fruitful partnership.

Links between the schools work on many levels, both social and academic.  However, the most visible manifestation of this relationship is that boys from Hampton are often to be seen on the LEH campus, and visa versa.

A privilege for Sixth Formers is that they are allowed to visit each other's Common Rooms; Sixth Form leaders also have the opportunity to attend the Leadership weekend, held annually in the New Forest.

Numerous clubs (such as Amnesty and the Christian Union) meet frequently to share ideas and run activities and the schools run a joint CCF programme.  On matters academic, AS/A2 Theatre Studies is delivered between the two schools, and staff from both schools meet frequently share good practice.  Pupils also work other for charitable ends, and a number are also part of Service Volunteers, with pupils working together in other schools; strong links have been forged with Clarendon school, with which there are several events each year.  Particular highlights also include the joint musical and joint choral society concert, both staged annually.

The coach company, which transports around 50% of pupils form each school, is another joint operation.

These linked activities give just a flavour of the many ways in which the schools are committed to partnership and as a sign of the continued desire to develop ever closer ties, the schools have recently launched a steering committee to explore new ways in which the schools can continue to develop their special relationship.  As a result of this initiative, it is planned that the Sixth Forms will hold a research and debating Symposium in November 2007.
