300th Anniversary Year
2011 marks the 300th anniversary of the signing of the lease on the school's first buildings in London (although we now believe that the school was actually founded a little earlier) and provides an excellent focal point for us to celebrate the school's achievements, past and present.
We are marking our tercentenary with a series of exciting events which involve the whole school community.
Highlights include:
- A Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral, with a sermon preached by the Lord Bishop of London
- The launch of the school history, a book entitled ‘Grace and Integrity: a portrait of The Lady Eleanor Holles School'. To find out more visit www.lehsbook.co.uk.
- A concert at St. John's, Smith Square, London
- A public art display at The Landmark Centre, Teddington
- A series of anniversary lectures, capturing aspects of life and culture in the early 18th century
- A whole-school photograph, balloon launch and anniversary cake
- The Friends' Anniversary Ball
